During 1973-77 while commanding a signals unit Wg Cdr Sharanjit Singh by his tireless efforts and optimum utilisation of men and material brought his unit to a very high standard to win "Best Radar Unit Trophy".
Wg Cdr Sharanjit Singh took over the Command of present unit with a number of handicaps, mainly, acute shortage of technicians, inadequate accommodation and high magnitude of pending tasks at Flying Stations. With his enthusiasm, drive and leadership qualities, he motivated his limited men and commissioned two Ground Control Approach stations in record time and brought the third station in final stages. The unit under his leadership is ahead of the task in installation of Direction Finding Navigation aids. He has established a sense of oneness among his men and officers hence none desires to leave the unit though it is a hard living unit.
