Details : Air Vice Marshal Jai Vir Singh (15758) was commissioned in Indian Air Force in the Logistics branch on 15 Jun 1979. During his distinguished career of 35 years, he has held varied field, staff and instructional assignments including S Lgs 0 of a forward fighter base, Joint Director of Personnel Officers (Logistics) at Air HQ, New Delhi, CLMO of an operational and Maintenance Command, commander of a premier equipment depot, instructional appointments at CDM, PO IMMOLS Air HQ RKP,New Delhi and key appointment of ACAS (proc) at Air HQ, New Delhi. He is presently posted as Air Officer Logistics Management, Maintenance Command. During his career he has exhibited positive attitude, professionalism, foresight and innovative approach in assignments linked to supply chain, human resources management, foreign procurement and enhancement of IMMOLS. As Joint Director Engineering (Mirage Cell) at AirHQ, he was instrumental in timely sourcing of spares for Mirage aircraft from foreign vendors with clear understanding of intricacies of foreign procurement, contract management and management of foreign currency. Acknowledging his professional acumen in this field, he was selected as a member of Ministry of Defence team for closing of account of Main Mirage Agreement during 1995-96 for two of the vendors namely Snecma and Dassault Aviation France. His involvement resulted in accruing savings of more than 3 million French Francs during this process. As Joint Director of Personnel Officers (Logistics) at Air HQ, he effectively managed cadre of logistics officers and introduced interactive approach with transparency to achieve greater satisfaction among officers on their placements. As PO IMMOLS, he initiated the process of migration from VC+ + to .net platform, e-concurrence by IFAs and IMMOLS connectivity to PCDA staff thus facilitating migration to paperless environment. As Air Officer-in Charge Logistics Management at HQ Maintenance Command, he was instrumental in refining provisioning process for systems ranges and management of airmen clothing. His active involvement resulted in speedy disposal of long pending cases of surplus weapons and scrap held at depots. For distinguished service of high order, Hon'ble President is pleased to award Vishisht Seva Medal to Air Vice Marshal Jai Vir Singh (Retd).
