| trf from F(P) wef 4 may 80, Another accident not listed is that of a gnat at Dum Dum during the war. VN JAMES 10535 my coursemate of 15 Sqn which moved from bagdogra to Ccu to augment the effort during the end of the war. After TO ,JAMES experienced hydraulic failure and it was decided that he would belly land. After firing his warload into a water body and burning fuel he landed on the shorter of the two runaways. The ac spun a couple of times before coming to a halt. He got out safely and the ac was quickly removed to dumping yard but not before our CO SIKAND removed all the useful items of the ac ie pitot head for a lamp , parachute,e2b compass,altimeter and items from the survival pack. Poor James got some expired chocolates. |
