Details : During the operations against Pakistan in December, 1971, Squadron leader Baljit Singh Saini was employed on Admin duties at one of our airfields. On the 3rd December, 1971, when the runway of the airfield was damaged by enemy raids, he arranged for the repair of the runway in record time. The enemy attacked the airfield on a number of other occasions but he always ensured that the runway was repaired in record time by remaining with the labour.

Throughout, Squadron Leader Baljit Singh Saint displayed courage, leadership and devotion to duty.
