During the devastating earthquake that rocked the Gujarat and Kutch region on 26 January 2001. The Air Force Station itself was badly affected, with heavy loss to life and property. As the Station Commander, Gp Capt Dhanda took stock of the situation, conducting all rescue and relief operations.
