Don Michael had been a flying instructor from the latter part of 1948 till retiring in 1967. From Tiger Moths, through Spitfires, Vampires, Hunters he had spent a lot of his time teaching combat flying. He trained pilots of the Army and Navy and pilots for the Nigerian and Afghan Air Force at our Indian Air Force schools, Hakimpet, Jodhpur and Bidar.

Obituary Notice:

Wg Cdr Donald Michael passed away peacefully on March 31, 2007 at North York General Hospital at the age of 81, surrounded by his wife and family. Don will be fondly remembered by his brothers, sisters, cousins, and many other family and friends.

Multi-talented and held in high esteem, His flying career spanned over 52 years and two continents. His integrity and commmitment to faith and family were paramount and unwavering.

He will be remembered by the Bharat Rakshak site team and its visitors for his contributions and help. He will be missed. RIP
