Air Marshal G E Gibbs

Air Marshal Gibbs, the third and the last British CAS of the Indian Air Force published his Autobiography, “A Survivors Story” in the 60s.

Seen here are some of the photographs from that particular book. There are three sets. One is a set of pictures from an Air force Passing out Parade, we assume it must be Jodhpur in the years 52-54.

Another interesting set of pictures relate to a DFC Investiture ceremony. Now why such a ceremony was held nearly five to eight years after the end of Second World War is a mystery for us. But still its an interesting episode worth looking into.

Lastly are the photos of the Handover to Air Marshal Subroto Mukherjee. No doubt a historic event.
