Advance HQ, South Western Air Command Date Raised : 1991-06-01 Location : Pune HQ Western India based at Pune moved to Bombay and was redesignated as HQ Maritime Air Operations on 15 July 1971. As a result of this move, a need for an establishment at Pune was felt to liason with HQ Southern Command of the Indian Army. Consequently, Air Force Liaison Cell at Pune was setup on 7 July 1971. In May 1991 as a result of the reorganisation of the Indian Army Commands, AFLC at Pune was upgraded to an Adv HQ of SWAC. The staff from Adv HQ, CAC at Lucknow moved to Pune to take up this role. Adv HQ, SWAC supervises No. 2 and 12 TAC.
