20 Signal Unit


Disbanded : 1966-01-01 Location : Jaffarpore
20 SU was one of the oldest SOC in IAF and was setup in early 1950s in Barrackpore. In 1966 it was renamed as 253 SU. By the 1980s, 253 SU had upgraded to P-40 Radar and was functioning as an ADDC. In 1991, the unit moved to Chandinagar, Jorhat in 1998 and was number plated in 2002. The unit was resurrected on 1 March 2014 at Belgavi.
