58 Pilot Course - 50 cadets reported to No. 1 AFA for all through training at Begumpet in early 1951. 31 of these, including one Naval aviator, got commission and wings on 30 August 1952. The Course was divided and Fighter pilots (14) were sent to CTU (Hakimpet on Spitfire and Tempest) and Transport Pilots (17) were sent to C&T Sqn (Agra on Dakota) for Operational Conversion Training. Joshpur Sword of Honour for best all-round pupil - MW Tilak (4331). Patiala Trophy for best service pilot - RL Bhadwar (4341). Nabha Trophy for best in ground subjects - JMW Tilak (4331).
