44 Pilot Course - Reported to ITW Poona (Date unknown) and completed initial ground training on (Date unknown). Subsequently they went to 2 EFTS (Jodhpur) from 28 Oct 46 to 26 Apr 47 for basic flying. Reported to AFS (I) Ambala for advanced flying on 5 May 1947. Moved from ITS to ATS on 3 Nov 1947 and completed training on 17 May 1948 and awarded Commission on that date. Dates of Operational Conversion Training unknown. Sword of Honour for best all-round pupil - VN Bhargava (3477). Patiala Trophy for best service pilot - VN Bharva (3477). Nabha Trophy for best in ground subjects - JM Lowe (3478). Apart from 11 Officer cadets of 44 Course, 4 Acting Pilot officers also completed Advanced flying at AFS(I) with the 44 Course and were given wings - JP Latta (3330), PW O'Shoughnessy (3402), LE Preston (3417) and D Menezes (3415). VN Bharagava and LE Preston were also given PC whereas rest of the officers were given SSC. 7 officer Cadets were transferred to PAF from Ambala in Sep 1947
