Wing Commander Pradip Bhagat was commissioned in the Air Force on 22 June 63. During his twenty years of service, he has held numerous important appointments like Station Flight Safety Officer, Command Flight Safety Officer, Flight Commander, Chief Operations Officer etc. Since 01 Dec 81, Wg Cdr P Bhagat has been holding the appointment of Chief Administrative Officer Air Force Station, New Delhi. Immediately on his arrival, Wing Commander P Bhagat accepted the challenge of preparing the Air Force Contingent for the Republic Day Parade. His dedicated and whole hearted involvement not only ensured smooth passing of the event but also brought laurels to the Air Force in the form of rare Press Reviews.

Concurrently, the Station was also going ahead with preparation for the conduct of the Air Force Sports Festival to be held at the Station during Feb 82. The preparations involved providing accommodation and messing to more than 1000 sportsmen and officials besides bringing up the standard of sports grounds and courts to the desired level. Wg Cdr P Bhagat, as the Chief Admin Officer, distinguished himself as a skilled and effective administrator in overcoming the enormous administrative difficulties.

For his outstanding service as an able leader, effective administrator and good organizer, the President is pleased to award 'Vishisht Seva Medal' to Wing Commander Pradip Bhagat.

Yudh Seva Medal

Group Captain Pradip Bhagat, VSM took over as Base Cdr Vavuniya Srillanka on 14 Nov 88 and served in that capacity upto 09 Feb 89. During this period of just under three months, the Base organization underwent revolutionary changes for the better and inter service relations reached a level of exceptionally high order. He managed to achieve spectacular improvements notwithstanding on going intense operations against militants including a possibility of evacuating Vayuniya airfield.

The area where AF Base Organisation was located had to be raised by a few inches, proper drainage provided and some areas black topped/cemented. All this was achieved by Gp Capt Bhagat in a matter of just two months.

For his dynamism, capacity for hard work and professionalism of a very high order, the President is pleased to award Yuddh Seva Medal to Gp Capt Pradip Bhagat.
