Details : | Wing Commander Rajendra Kumar Dikshit was commissioned in the Indian Air Force on 17 Dec 60. Over the last 20 years he has held various assignments at large Stations, Wings, Command Headquarters and Air Headquarters. He is imbued with sincerity of purpose, professional acumen, organizing ability and exceptional devotion to duty. As the Deputy Director (Ceremonials) at Air Headquarters since November 79, Wing Commander Dikshit has been handling multifarious subjects such as ceremonials and investitures, colour presentation parades, VIP visits, Crests and mottoes, publicly and exhibitions, Commodore Commandants and Dress. In addition to his normal heavy routine he has also been the Honorary Joint Secretary of Air Force Wives Welfare Association. Whatever tasks have been assigned to him, he has performed them most creditably and earned the appreciation of one and all. In the important area of ceremonials, he has made significant contribution in organizing and coordinating various ceremonial functions of national importance such as Republic Day Parades, Beating Retreat, Independence Day ceremonies as well as Air Force functions of importance such as Colour Presentation Parades at Kalaikunda and Pune and Static Displays at Palam, Bangalore and Calcutta. In organizing and coordinating these functions, Wing Commander Diskhit earned deep and coordinating these functions, Wing Commander Dikshit earned deep appreciation of high dignitaries including the Prime Minister, the Rajya Sabha Mantry, the Chief of the Air Staff and the Defence Secretary. Another notable achievement of this officer is the authorization of pre-flight meals for the aircrew which he speeded up by his initiative, constant liaison and discussions with the Ministries of Defence and Finance. He also made very significant and valuable contribution in formulating the proposal for introduction of new uniform for airmen and streamlined management of clothing items which is presently under active consideration of the government. As Honorary Secretary of the Central Air Force Wives Welfare Association, he has assisted the President of the Association in bringing about rapid growth of its funds through improved financial management, economy in expenditure and massive life membership drive. With his systematic analysis and pragmatic approach, he imbued a sense of purpose amongst his subordinates. For his outstanding service, single minded devotion and loyalty, Rashtrapati is pleased to award Vishisht Seva Medal to Wing Commander Rajendra Kumar Dikshit. | |||
