Details : | During the operations against Pakistan in December, 1971, Wing Commander Jagjit Singh Sawhney was commanding a Transport Squadron. Although his Squadron was deployed at three places, he remained in constant touch with all these detachments to ensure optimum work-out-put. He led his Squadron in airborne operations over Bangladesh and also took part in the airlift of an Infantry Brigade. Throughout, Wing Commander Jagjit Singh Sawhney displayed professional skill, leadership and devotion to duty. | |||
