Details :

Wing Commander Vinayak Bhiwaji Sawant Vr. C. was commissioned in the Flying (Navigator) Branch the Indian Air Force in January, 1953. He has been working as Deputy Director of Intelligence at Air Headquarters for the last two years. During the tenure of his duties he has affected many improvements in his Section. In the discharge of his duties he showed keenness and resourcefulness and executed all tasks with skill. Under his able guidance, his Section worked very hard and produced valuable results in the collation, analysis and dissemination of intelligence information. His note-worthy achievement, in particular, has been consolidation of Intelligence information into a pamphlet, which was issued to all units well in advance before the recent Indo-Pak hostilities started.

He conducted all tasks allotted to him with determination and zeal. His unflinching devotion to duty and tenacity of purpose were a source of inspiration to others who worked with him.
