Details : Wing Commander Ramasamudra Ananthamurthy Ranjan Ram (21755) was commissioned in the Indian Air Force as an engineer in the Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) branch on 09 Mar 92. He has held various appointments as Technical Right Commander, Senior Engineering Officer of a Wing, Production Engineer at Base Repair Depot and an Instructor at Technical Type Training School. He is trained on MiG-23 BN and MiG-27 aircraft apart from training on Electronic Warfare systems. He is also trained on state-of-art avionic systems fitted on MiG-27 upgrade and overhaul of MiG-29 rotables. The officer has impeccable credentials on MiG-23/27 fleet since 1998. He has achieved extraordinary productivity and quality in various maintenance set-ups. By virtue of his training abroad on upgraded systems the officer was specially chosen to work as Technical Right Commander of MiG-27 upgrade(UPG) aircraft. He planned and executed build-up of seven MiG-27 ML prolonged aircraft on ground in record time. His analytical mind, undaunted efforts and perseverance not only helped in identifying critical issues affecting the reliability and maintain ability of MiG-27 UPG aircraft but also resulted in resolving them through repeated discussions with design agencies and suggesting remedial measures. By virtue of his knowledge, he redeemed himself as a single point contact on all MiG-27 UPG related issues and has been a key member of core group involving agencies like Defence Avionics Research Establishment, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). He has also been instrumental in setting up of various test facilities related to MiG 27 UPG avionics. The officer over the last ten years has contributed exceptionally to the Organisation through his steadfast perseverance, devotion to profession, sincerity of purpose and quest for professional excellence. His contribution towards skill enhancement of young air warriors has been commendable and worth emulating by one and all. Being a 'Senior Engineer (Aircraft), of an Air Force Station dealing with more than one hundred aircraft of six different fleets, he has proved his mettle and excelled in each and every area. He made elaborate plans and executed them with precision for smooth induction of Su-30 MKI squadron at one of the premier Air Force Station. He has studies various aspects related to Su-30 MKI aircraft servicing in details and worked out plan of action for setting up of all facilities. He has identified various testers, which are interoperable with MiG-27 UPG thus enhancing efficiency. For distinguished service of high order, Hon'ble President is pleased to award Vishisht Seva Medal to Wing Commander Ramasamudra Ananthamurthy Ranjan Ram.
