Details : | Group Captain Sanjive Dhaka (20600) was commissioned in the Indian Air Force in Administrative Branch (Sub Stream Fighter Controller) on 15 December 1990. He is a qualified Master Fighter Controller, a qualified Flight Director in Aerostat Systems and an alumni of Defence Services Staff College. His previous major appointments include Commanding Officer of an operational radar unit, Senior Fighter Director of an Aerostat unit and Instructor at the premier Defence Services Staff College, Wellington. As Senior Operations Officer of a mobile radar unit, after the shooting down of Pakistan Navy Atlantique in 1999, he moved the unit from Pune to Kutch sector in Gujarat for providing enhanced Air Defence coverage. During 'OP Parakram' in 2001, he was involved in planning and deployment of Air Defence radar units in Suratgarh sector. Consequent to undergoing Aerostat Flight Director course at T COM Lp,USA in Aug 2003, he was extensively involved in the induction and operationalisation of Aerostat Systems in IAF Due to his exceptional understanding of Air Power concepts, he was selected as an instructor at the Defence Services Staff College at Wellington. He also holds M Phil degree in Defence and Strategic studies. As Chief Administrative Officer of Air Force Station Chandigarh, he displayed highest levels of initiative and dedication. His administrative acumen was visible in seamless handling of the visits of WIPs including the President of India in Mar 2013. His planning and meticulous paperwork resulted in sanction of a large number of high value works projects including the revival of much awaited Runway Resurfacing project and approval of MoD in Mar 2014. This would be a milestone in infrastructural development and enhancement in operational capability at this base. The quantum of responsibility of C Adm 0 of this strategic transport base is manifold while comparing other stations due to distinct variables coupled with the domestic area being spread over in three different pockets of the city. His perseverance in effective liaisoning with civil administration has resulted in developmental and upliftment of Air Force residential sectors in UT. His exemplary rapport with the state Government machinery has resulted in 100 % mutation of defence land in Distt SAS Nagar, Punjab. His initiatives and incessant drive to improve the quality of life is visible in revival of the Airwarrior Institute (Mehak Complex), improved standards of DSC guard rest rooms, airmen billets and many such other peoples' issues. These initiatives were highly appreciated by the AOC-in- C during his visit to the station in Mar 2014. With his motivation, positive attitude and sound operational orientation, the officer is an asset to the organisation.
