Details :

Squadron Leader Sanjay Kumar Singh (20119) Flying (Pilot) was commissioned on 21 Jul 89 in Flying branch of the IAF. He is currently on the posted strength of OSA-AKMissile Squadron and working as Ops Officer and Adjutant.

Sqn Ldr Sanjay Kumar Singh joined the Squadron at a critical time when the Unit was moving to a new location. He took over the reins of Senior Ops Officer and spearheaded the activity therein. The Sqn move entailed a host of activities including operational planning, setting up of infrastructure and tackling of administrative problems. He displayed a keen sense of commitment and diligence as he systematically analyzed the Op requirements and totally involved himself in every sphere of squadron activity regardless of its being operational, admin or technical. His single-minded devotion played a major part in rehabilitating the Squadron at the new location and enhancing the Op ability.

Sqn Ldr Sanjay Kumar Singh has never declined any additional workload and is always available and ready to assist anyone in any sphere of activity. This dedication to duty was highlighted when he, as a single Op Offr, maintained 24 hours vigil for three months continuously during Op Rakshak from MayAug 99. The Flight maintained a high level of Op ability throughout this period.

He has proved to be more than capable professionally, having been awarded a Cat 'B' in his first Cat-Board. His abilities were reorganized by DASI in that he was appointed Command Examiner for OSA-AK-M system in Oct 99.

In recognition of his selfless approach, devotion to duty, professional competence and outstanding performance, the Hon'ble President is pleased to award 'Vishisht Seva Medal' to Squadron Leader Sanjay Kumar Singh.
