Details : | Group Captain Mannepalli Baladitya (17230) Logistics was commissioned in the Indian Air Force in 1983. He has held field assignments in two fighter bases and was Senior Logistics Officer at a premier Air Force Station. He has commanded an Equipment Depot and has held the prestigious appointment of Secretary, Services Sports Control Board before assuming the present assignment as Command Logistics Management Officer at Central Air Command (CAC). As a sportsman, he has excelled in Squash and was Air Force champion on four occasions and represented Services at Nationals. He was nominated by Indian Olympic Association as a delegate for the 2004 Athens Olympics. He was invited by BCC! to assume 'the appointment of Manager, Indian Cricket Team in 2005. He was associated with Indian Team for five tours, a period during which he earned accolades both from the team members and media. In CAC, he has been actively involved in planning and implementation of an effective Logistics support for all flying operations and exercises conducted within the country and abroad. His close liaison with HAL and other supply and repair agencies has galvanized the supply chain, thereby contributing immensely to the maintenance support for all aircraft resulting in the serviceability being maintained at levels higher that the Air Force averages. His deep sense of involvement in implementation of Integrated Material Management On Line System (IMMOLS), e-auction and e-procurement in logistics transactions has been exemplary. He has also been involved in an important Air Force level Project Study dealing with Basing of Combat Assets of IAF. In addition he is a member of the Joint Services Working Group responsible for Integration of Logistics activities in the three services. For his distinguished service of high order and outstanding contribution to enhancing the image of Indian Air Force, Hon'ble President is pleased to award 'Vishisht Seva Medal' to Group Captain Mannepalli Baladitya. 91 |
