Details : Group Captain Tripath Pal Singh Dhillon (16215) Flying (Pilot) was commissioned as a helicopter pilot in the flying branch on 13 Dec 1980. Gp Capt TPS Dhillon has held the important appointments of Commanding Officer of a helicopter unit, Director of Training (Flying) and Joint Director Air Staff Inspection at Air HQ in addition to commanding Air Force Station Kumbhigram. Gp Capt TPS Dhillon is a thorough professional and a dedicated helicopter pilot who has more than 5500 hours of accident! incident free flying on trainer aircraft and helicopters. He has undergone important Service courses like the APFIC, DSSC and LDMC. For his exceptional professional competence, he was selected as the Team Leader of the Indian Air Force Training Team in Namibia in the year 2000. He has also been commended by the Chief of the Air Staff and Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command and Western Air Command for devotion to duty. As Director of Training (Flying), Gp Capt Dhillon was instrumental in introducing methods and procedures for streamlining the abroad training for IAF personnel. Despite time constraints, with dedication and personal involvement, he ensured successful completion of a large number of cases of IAF officers proceeding abroad on courses. This include the first ever visit abroad by the officers undergoing the Higher Air Command Course at the College of Air Warfare in 2006. Gp Capt Dhillon, as Station Commander of Air Force Station Kumbhigram, had ensured professional competence coupled with improving quality of life at Kumbhigram. His untiring and relentless efforts in imbibing a spirit of commitment and channelising collective energy of the air warriors had resulted in a highly motivated and output-oriented group of personnel at Kumbhigram. These aspects had been greatly appreciated by all, including the DASI. With his meticulous and systematic planning, he had also strived for expeditious culmination of various work services at the Station. This has greatly enhanced the quality of life at this remote place. For distinguished service of very high order, Hon'ble President is pleased to award 'Vishisht Seva Medal' to Group Captain Tripath Pal Singh Dhillon.
