Details : | Wing Commander Anil Kumar (16119) Lgs was commissioned on 15 Jun 1980 in the Logistics Branch of the IAF. He has varied experience of serving in Base Repair Depot (BRD), Equipment Depot (ED) and operational Command. Currently he is Staff Officer to the Chief of the Air Staff. While serving as Senior Logistics Officer, Wg Cdr Anil Kumar displayed exceptional professional acumen in improving the system of maintenance and providing logistics cover to ensure availability of the items at door step of the users. This led to marked reduction in the number of aircraft on ground (AOG). In the year 1992, while serving as Mess Secretary of the Air Force Officer Mess he improved the systems and motivated the staff to such an extent that the Air Force functions, which were earlier entrusted to be handled by hotels, were arranged in the Mess itself. This led to considerable savings. He was commended by the Chief of the Air Staff for his initiative and devotion to duty. As a Staff Officer to the CAS, he has used his professional acumen and experience in rendering sound advice towards improving logistics functions and management of Air Force inventory. This has resulted in cost savings and putting inventory items to effective use. He has given an excellent account of his ability in not only co-ordinating the activities at the CAS's secretariat but also helped in better interaction with other directorates at Air HQ. Wg Cdr Anil Kumar has an unmatched capability in tracking action points and ensuring the directions are moved in time in the right direction. In addition to his normal duties, Wg Cdr Anil Kumar has performed in an exemplary manner in implementation of various measures initiated by the CAS. Due to his enthusiasm and zeal, many a difficult and tricky case, coming up to CAS for mediation, have been resolved in least possible time. For his sincerity, commitment and total dedication to work, the Hon'ble President is pleased to award 'Vishisht Seva Medal' to Wing Commander Anil Kumar. | |||
