Wing Commander Davinder Pal Singh (14475) Adm was commissioned on 16 Jun 76. During his service, he has held various field and staff appointments such as Station Adjutant, Security Officer, OC Provost Unit, S Adm O and Deputy Provost Marshal. For his unique distinctions he was commended by AOA and CAS in 1987 and 1993.

In his appointment as DPM Wg Cdr DP Singh handled administrative and functional aspects of twenty-nine Provost and Security units, co-ordinated ceremonial/Provost commitments, formulated security policies and monitored their implementation. With his vast experience, analytical approach and perseverance he reviewed all the policy instructions and processed cases with Govt for modernising security equipment and vehicles in the Air Force. He was instrumental for induction of modern security equipment and vehicles in the Air Force.

The officer also undertook the task of revision of all the AFOs on Security, Police duties, Identity, Cards, Dog Squads and policy on PAD/GD, Aid to Civil Power and training of IAF/P, opening the AF Dog school and obtaining Govt sanction to raise additional 60 dog squads and scaling of additional pair of uniform for the IAF/P.

During his tenures in field units and in the Provost Dte he provided renewed vibrancy in the functioning of Provost and Security activity through modernization schemes.

For his vision, sustained hard work and distinguished service of a high order, the Hon'ble President is pleased to award 'Vishisht Seva Medal' to Wing Commander DP Singh.
