Details : | During the Operations against Pakistan in December, 1971, Flying Officer Shankarnarayanan Balasubramanian was serving as a pilot with a Fighter-Bomber Squadron. On 4th and 5th December 1971 he flew deep day penetration operational missions to enemy airfield and successfully damaged enemy airfield on ground and other airfield installations despite heavy ground fire. In this action, Flying Officer Shankarnarayanan Balasubramanian displayed gallantry, professional skill and devotion to duty of a high order. | |||
