Details :

Flying Officer Suresh Khanna (10861) was commissioned in the Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) of the Indian Air Force in October 1967. At the time of Indo-Pak hostilities in December, 1971, he served as Officer-in-charge of a detachment of a wireless unit deployed in the Rajasthan sector.

Both before and during the Indo-Pak operation, Flying Officer Khanna proved commendable practitioner of his duties and responsibilities and extended the same by admirable dedication. His ceaseless efforts and personal example were a source of inspiration to all personnel under him worki ng under extremely trying conditions and difficult circumstances. He made significant contribution towards planning and success of air operations in the Rajasthan sector.

Flying Officer Suresh Khanna displayed leadership and devotion to duty and has rendered distinguished service of a high order. He is awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal.
