The Chetak was first inducted into Indian Navy Service in 1961. Over the years 85 of these helicopters have seen service with the Navy

Project Update: INS Arihant (S-73) was formally launched on 26th July 2009 by Smt Gursharan Kaur, wife of Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh. This will be followed by sea trials in 2009-10 and possible commissioning in 2011-12. Photography was prohibited from the event and thus no photos of the Arihant are available
