Vessel Type: Inshore Patrol Craft (IPC).

Displacement: 32 tons full load.

Main Machinery: 2 diesel engines with 840 hp sustained and two shafts.

Maximum Speed: 20 knots.

Range: 400 miles at 20 knots.

Complement: Eight.

Weapons: One 7.62mm machine gun.

Comments: Built by the Swallow Craft Company in South Korea. The last two vessels were taken over from the India Oil Corporation (IOC). Besides carrying out anti-smuggling operations in the high seas, these vessels were deployed off Kankesanthurai in Sri Lanka during IPKF operations and for range clearance off Sriharikota where rockets are launched. C02 and C06 were decommissioned on 24 September 2001, after completing an eventful service of 21 years. C02, which was at sea for 1367 days, had been commanded by 20 officers. Its personnel had received commendation twice from the Director General of Coast Guard and four times from the Commander, Coast Guard Region (East).
