Sub Lieutenant Peter Ernest Jenner aboard HMIS Madras during his deputation to the then Royal Indian Navy. HMIS Madras was one of two minesweepers - the other was HMIS Bengal - built for the Royal Indian Navy at the Cockatoo Island Dockyard in Sydney, Australia. Allocated ship number 155, she was laid down on 04 August 1941, launched on 17 February 1942 and completed on 22 May 1942. Other reports state that she was commissioned on 12 May 1942. She was decommissioned from Indian Naval service in 1960.
