The computer control system allows the gun to be operated in various modes. The laying and fire control of the gun can be automatically controlled from the artillery radar. The Kondensor optical target sighting system allows the gun to be used under semi-automatic autonomous control. Manual laying drives are used for routine daily maintenance. The gun is operated by a crew of 5 - 6 personnel. Ammunition which is replenished manually, is fed to the gun via elevators and automatic feed mechanisms. The gun is capable of a firing single shots to burst rates of 30 to 50 rounds per minute, with a range over 20 km.
