THE INDIAN ARMY IN SRI LANKA, 1987-90

[ Army History ]

This is an attempt to give an insight to the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) Ops. in Sri Lanka between 1987 and 1990. This was an operation which was botched at the political, intelligence and military level. While many, especially in the Army, would like to forget the incident, it is important for Indians to understand this war. Never again must the Jawan be made to fight with the odds loaded against him. Knowing our history, the odds of that happening are very high - L.N. Subramanian and P V S Jagan Mohan.
