The Sikh Light Infantry

Jawans of the Sikh Light Infantry (Sikh LI) march during the 2003 Republic Day parade. At 140+ years old, the regiment has a glorious martial history and has earned one Ashoka Chakra and five Maha Vir Chakra medals, amongst numerous other prestigious battle honours and medals. The regiment has produced one Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ved Prakash Malik, 10th Sikh LI.
