The Assam Rifles

Jawans of the Assam Regiment march during the 2001 Republic Day parade. The war cry of the Regiment is Rhino Charge and they carry a side arm, called the Dah (a dagger). Raised in June 1941, the regiment is considered young by Indian Army regimental standards. 2nd Lt. Rajeev Sandhu earned the regiment it's first Maha Vir Chakra in 1988.
