Origin: France (Aérospatiale Allouette III - SA 316B).

Type: Light utility helicopter.

Accommodation: Two seat side-by-side seating in cockpit. Main cabin can carry up to four passengers. A bit larger and more refined than the HAL Cheetah, with a fully faired fuselage structure.

Engine: One 650kW (870shp) Turbomeca Artouste IIIB turboshaft.

Speed: 210 km/h (126 mph; 109 knots).

Service Ceiling: 3200 meters (10,496 feet).

Range260 nautical miles (540 km; 300 miles).

Comments: The HAL Chetak helicopter units are used for scouting & anti-armour duties and an option remains to re-engine the helicopter with the Turbomeca TM 333-2B2 engine.
