Mil Mi-4

The first Mi-4 helicopters were inducted in the early 60s just before the India China War. The Mi-4 equipped over six helicopter units and were the mainstay of the medium lift heli force till the induction of the Mi-8 in 1971.

An Mi-4 under maintenance somewhere in the North East. The Helicopter was powered by a Radial Engine in the nose. A distinguishing feature is the seperation of the cockpit from the cargo area.
