"Mighty Jets" Illyushin 76 MD on the tarmac

another IL-76 of 44 Squadron at the main tarmac area, this time with the rear loading ramp opened and all engines covered to prevent debris and particulate matter from entering the engines. Behind the aircraft is the main building for 44 Squadron Personnel. Notice how the name IL-76MD is painted on the side of the aircraft just behind the cockpit. This habit was continued with the IL-78MKIs as well. Also notice the engine cover for the inner starboard engine has an opening in it. Care to guess what it’s for?
