Fg Offr M M Singh was ferrying a Gnat from Amritsar to Halwara. However while on circuit over Halwara, his Gnat crashed, and he was killed.

Sqn Ldr Jiwa Singh was engaged by Pakistani MiG-19 aircraft on a mission to West Pakistan. His Su-7 (B-902) was shot down and  he was killed.

Flt Lt R G Kadam was flying as No.2 in a daylight raid over Risalawala airfield in Sukhoi (B-910). He was shot down by PAF MiG-19s.

While attacking targets North west of Amritsar, Flt Lt Shankar's Sukhoi-7 (B-860) was hit by ground fire. His aircraft was seen crashing behind enemy lines.

Sqn Ldr M K Jain's ws flying a  Hunter (A-938) on an interdiction mission to Chamb. He  was hit by ground fire and was killed in the crash..

Flt Lt Chibber was on an Interdiction mission at 0915 hours, when he was shot down by enemy ground fire over the  Mandi Sadiqganj Area.

Sqn Ldr Sachdeva was flying Hunter BA-275 over Hilli region in East Pakistan when his Engine flamed out. He ejected from the aircraft but was killed.

Flt Lt Naithani was tasked with attacking Lodharan Railway Station on the night of 10/11 Dec. His Canberra (IF-1024) was found crashed the next day in Indian territory.

Flt Lt Theophilus was the first navigator to Flt Lt Naithani. He was killed in the Canberra during the return leg after attacking Lodharan Railway Station on the night of 10/11 Dec.

Flt Lt Manohar Purohit was the second Navigator in Canberra IF-1024, which attacked the Lodharan Railway station on the night of 10/11 Dec. He was also killed in the crash.

Flt Lt K L Bajaj was involved in flying Casevac sorties in the Poonch sector.  He was killed when his Chetak helicopter hit overhead HT wires near Srinagar.

Flt Lt Ashok Dhavle's MiG-21 was shot down by friendly fire in a case of mistaken identity on the night of 11 Dec 71 while chasing enemy aircraft.

Flt Lt Mohan was on a Sukhoi (B-780) Interdiction sortie in the Chamb area when he was intercepted by enemy F-86 aircraft and was shot down.

Flt Lt Sahu was coming in to land at Palam airfield in a MiG-21 (C-603) when he undershot the runway and crashed . He was killed in the impact.

Wg Cdr Gill was leading a MiG-21 formation to attack Badin Radar. His aircraft (C-705) was hit by AA fire and crashed, killing him.

Sqn Ldr J D Kumar was the pilot of a Mystere IVa (IA-1331) on a photorecce sortie over the Fazilka area. He was shot down by AA fire. He tried to eject but was killed.

Flt Lt Periera was the Forward Air Controller with our ground troops. He was directing our aircraft in midst of fighting when he was hit by a bullet and killed.

Fg Offr Sekhon was on ORP at Srinagar when it was attacked by six F-86 Sabres. He took off and battled with the six aircraft singlehandedly before sheer numbers overwhelmed him.

Flt Lt Wilson was tasked with attacking Tezgaon airfield near Dhaka on a daylight raid. His Canberra was hit by ground fire and crashed killing him and his Navigator, Flt Lt R B Mehta.
