After the War, AR Pandit held
some important command and staff appointments including commands of No.1 and No.3
Squadrons, command of No.1 Operational Wing in Jammu and Srinagar and as the Air Attache
to Pakistan.
In 1951 he attended the prestigious
Defence Services Staff College at Wellington and later commanded the Jet Training Wing.
During the 1965 war with Pakistan,
he was the Senior Air Staff Officer (SASO) at HQ Eastern Air Command in the rank of Air
Commodore and was awarded the AVSM for meritorious service. [Next]
