Photographs depicting No.4 Squadron's electrical section under Frank's charge.

Frank writes:

"I joined 4 Sqdn. I.A.F. from 152(Hyderabad) Sqdn on 15 April 1944. and I was posted (out) to R.A.F. Kolar on 30th Aug. 1945.

I was with the unit when Sqd/Ldr. G.S.Sharp was C.O, but only for a short time. I remember the operations over Akyab which involved smoke screens and bombing by us. I also went on the unit which involved a landing on Ramree Island.

.... the pilots they were a mixed crowd. Mainly English, Scotch, Welch, a Kenyan, and one an Old Rugby School boy (Jimmy Grimshaw). There were no Indian pilots at that period, but I believe there were those who came and I think went to Japan, by which time I had left."
