Revell 1/48 Mil Mi-25

Size: 5 items

by Raja Bose This model depicts a Mil – 24 HIND gunship of the IAF (possibily No. 125 Gladiators HU) used during the IPKF deployment (Operation Pawan) in Sri Lanka. Used with devastating effect on the Tamil Tigers it was called the Crocodile by the LTTE. This is an old 1:48 Revell kit and my particular kit turned out be a little warped and had terrible fit. I was also a bit unsure about the camo colours to be used because the reference pics on Bharat-Rakshak.com had the camo looking yellowish probably due to bright sunlight. Two things had to be scratch built, one being the little brown exhaust thingy on the top and the other being a light towards the front I also assembled a Jaguar kit, keeping in mind the Cope Thunder exercises which took place in Alaska, where the Indian Airforce is participating with it's Jaguars and IL-78 tankers I thought I would post pics of the model of a Jag (JS 120) belonging to the No.14 Bulls squadron. By mistake though I also put the insignia of the No.5 Tuskers squadron on the nose! Both these squadrons are based at Ambala AFB. Since this was my 1st 1:72 model, the painting is not very good.
