Italeri 1/72 Mirage 2000D

Size: 10 items

by Aamod Potdar Well this my first 1/72 kit after my first 1/48 Academy Sukhoi 30. Well this th Mirage 2000 of Indian Air Force which has quite few of these 2 seater versions and are being suited for nuclear delivery operations. The kit is the Italeri offering for the 2000D, which comes in an end-opening box. The plastic parts are included on two sprues of gray plastic. The engraving is mixed, mainly engraved, with raised lines on the pylons. Also the depth of the engraving varies, with stronger lines on the fuselage, but looks quite usable. The cockpit is fitted out the usual way for this scale, the instrument panels have raised detail and the multi-part ejection seats look not bad. As stores we get the a big under-fuselage drop tank, two air-to-surface missiles (AS.30) and two laughable 'Magic' AAM. Also, a targeting pod is supplied. Well constructing the kit wasn’t difficult at all. Well I completed the whole kit with painting job within one week. Well I had some fixing problem with the air intakes which wasn’t fixing accurately I had to do a lot o sanding to get it smooth. One more problem I had with the kit was that they didn’t supplied guns with the kit! Well I have brush painted the kit since don’t have a airbrush. The paint scheme (two tone) is of the Mirage 2000 aircraft with serial no KT 202 Of the Indian Air Force. Well you will find the serial no (KT 202) decal missing because I didn’t have time to print one which I will be doing later . Sorry for that. Well decals supplied with the kit were pretty good but I got the Indian Air Force decals from Mr.Murli Rajan. © 2006 by Aamod Potdar
