Golden Jubilee - Official Rum Bottle
The Golden Jubilee Celebrations of 1982 produced various
"collectibles" that were novel in conception and execution. But
one would never ever think that the IAF would have got into the business of
commemorative liquor bottles - which is exactly what this particular
"collectible" is. Arriving from the personal collection of
Vinayak Dutt Shukla is an IAF official issue "Golden Jubilee"
Rum Bottle!. The Golden Jubilee logo is uniquely embossed on the bottle -
and while it does not have any remnants of the type of liquor contained in it,
Vinayak assures that it was issued with Rum.
So how many bottles were issued? How much were they sold for? Was it an
official issue? or an Unofficial effort at a Command or Station level? We dont
know!
