Air Force Laison Cell Date Raised : 1963-07-23 Disbanded : 2012-08-21 Location : Lucknow Air Force Liaison Cell was formed on 23 July 1963 at Lucknow for co-ordination with the Central Command of Indian Army. However, on 7 July 1971, this establishment was upgraded to Adv HQ, CAC. At the same time, HQ Western India based at Pune moved to Bomaby as HQ Maritime Air Operations. Conseuqently, AFLC moved to Pune to be perform the same role with the Southern Command of the Indian Army. In June 1991, the AFLC at Pune was upgraded to Adv HQ, SWAC, with the staff from Adv HQ, CAC moving to Pune. Air Cmde Manbir Singh was at the helm during this move. AFLC moved back to Lucknow from Pune performing the same role as Adv HQ, CAC. Between Dec 2003 and April 2009, AFLC was vacant with the role being performed by AFS Memaura. On 22 Aug 2012, AFLC was again upgraded to Adv HQ, CAC and AFLC standalone stopped functioning.
