 No.2253 Squadron Adroits Motto : Sarvadha Vidhyate Lakshyam (Always on Target) Location : Maharajpur 2253 Squadron was raised at 26 Wing (Thane) in 1989 and relocated to 18 Wg, AF (Pathankat) in Mar 1991. The Squadron was later relocated to Gwalior in Sep 1991. This Squadron is equipped with the OSA-AK-M Missile System of Russian origin. This surface to air missile, OSA-AK-M, is a low level quick reaction missile system which is aptly called OSA meaning Wasp in Russian vocabulary. The Sqn was deployed during Kargil operations in 1999 as well as Op Parakaram in 2002.
