Helicopter Training Unit

Helicopter Training School was set up on 2 April 1962 at Air Force Station, Palam and was then called the Logistics Support Training Units (LSTU). It then had two Bell 47 G3 helicopters on its inventory. The same year on I December, the school moved to Bamrauli in Allahabad with an aim to impart training to its first batch of six trainees. In May 1967, the Units was relocated at Jodhpur and its name was changed to HTS. At Jodhpur the school was also re-equipped with the new Chetak (Alouette Ill) helicopters. The school functioned as the lodger Units of the Air Force Flying College. The school moved to Air Force Station, Hakimpet in October 1973. " "
