Air Force Laison Cell (EAC)

When EAC was redesignated as CAC and moved from Fort William to Allahabad, an Air Force Liason Cell (AFLC) was left behind at Fort William, co-located with the Army. In July 1971, this cell was redesignated as Advance HQ, Eastern Air Command. It played an important role in the 1971 war. Till 1986 it had 2 TAC's under its command. On raising of 3 Corps in 1986, another TAC at Dimapur was setup.
