3 Uttar Pradesh Air Sqn NCC Date Raised : 1952-09-01 Location : Kanpur 3 UP Air Sqn NCC was raised as 6 (Uttar Pradesh) Air Sqn NCC at Kanpur as the first NCC Air unit in the state in September 1952. No. 6 (UP) Air Squadron at Kanpur was the first unit to receive a Glider in 1955.On the creation of the Directorate, the unit was renamed as 1 UP Air Sqn NCC. Sometime later it was renamed as 3 UP Air Sqn NCC.
