260 Signal Unit Stratobats


Location : Patiala
Some or the other SU has operated from Patiala since 1963 before 260 SU was setup in 1981. The Units equipped with P-30 (M) radar was initially formed as a detachment of 8 Wing at Adampur in 1972. The radar moved to jammu for sometime and operated as a detatchment for 23 Wing. The radar detatchment was subsequently designated as 260 SU and was tasked to operate as GCI under the ADDC of 230 SU. The Units moved to its present location at Patiala on 19 may 81 to replace a detatchment of 501 SU.
