This squadron was raised on 07 Mar 1958 at Holkar Science College, Indore and was designated as No. 16 Air Wing NCC. 2. During reorganization of Air Wing NCC it was renamed as 1MP Air Sqn NCC, Indore. The location was subsequently changed to Nehru Stadium Indore. The present location is just sufficient to house the Squadron office and stores. The Squadron also has a hangar at civil aerodrome Indore. This Units is result oriented and encourages cadets for commissioning into the Armed Forces by virtue of passing ‘B’ & ‘C’ certificates. Cadets also stand at an advantage for entry into all India competitions. By now more than 100 cadets have been commissioned into defence services and many others have joined services like BSF, Coast Guard, Police and CRPF.3. The Squadron is a lodger Units of No 40 wing AF Gwalior and is dependent on this wing for pay and allowances, central clothing except medical facility. The No.3 Air Force Hospital, Amla provides medical support. Routine medical support is available at MH Mhow. Indore Group
