54 Course

Start Date : 26 Aug 49 End Date : 19 Jan 51

54 Pilot Course - 84 cadets, including five Naval cadets reported to No. 1 AFA Ambala on 26 August 1949 and completed all through flying traning on 19 Jan 1951 getting wings and commission. In all 23 IAF and 2 Naval cadets got commission. Of these the first 8 got PC and the remaining SSC. This was the the first course to undergo all through flying training at one academy.Thereafter they underwent Conversion training at C&T squadron (Spitfire and Tempest) in AFS Ambala till 2 June 1951 and C&T Sqn Agra (Dakota).
