During the operations against Pakistan in December 1971 as a pilot in a Fighter-Bomber Squadron, Flight Lieutenant Robindra Kumar Sinha flew a number of operational missions. Some of these missions were for photo/visual reconnaissance deep inside the enemy territory, and the information brought by him helped to plan subsequent strike missions which successfully destroyed enemy targets. He also flew many operational missions in support of our ground forces in Chhamb-Jaurian sector and destroyed four enemy tanks and several vehicles despite heavy ground fire and air opposition. His missions had a decisive effect in relieving our ground forces of enemy pressure.
Throughout, Flight Lieutenant Robindra Kumar Sinha displayed gallantry, professional skill and devotion to duty of a high order.
