Details :

During the operations against Pakistan in December, 1971, Flight Lieutenant Iqbal Ali Syed was serving with a Fighter Bomber Squadron. He flew a number of operational missions and destroyed nine tanks, eight vehicles, one gun position, one fuel dump, one building, one watch tower and one fuel train. He also attacked concentrations of enemy troops and armour.

Throughout, Flight Lieutenant Iqbal Ali Syed displayed gallantry, professional skill and devotion to duty of a high order.
